About

Our Story

Over the summer of 2023, our team formed the Flagstaff Dance Company with the mission to provide a safe and positive environment where dancers can thrive. As a group of dedicated women who have seen both the incredibly positive and occasionally toxic impact of dance, we felt called to start our own studio with a positive mindset at the forefront of our mission. We are cooperatively run by our Studio Director and the parent cooperative board who work together to make decisions that equally benefit our dancers as students and as well-rounded individuals.

Our Mission

Flagstaff Dance Company was founded in order to provide a safe and positive environment for Flagstaff dancers to grow and thrive in. We believe that dance can and should offer so much more than technical skills. Our dancers learn the value of hard work through classes steeped in community building and teamwork through direct mentorship and peer encouragement. Classes and competitions offer the opportunity for dancers to challenge themselves in a supportive environment that simultaneously encourages competition and promotes leadership. FDC believes in consistently placing the dancers at the forefront of the experience. We are not only committed to excellence in our dancers regarding how they perform on stage, but equally how they represent well rounded individuals in the studio and beyond.
